Taleboxes' Advent calendars focus on a story. Every day you open a small box and find a little story that you can read (reading level 1st grade) and in which you will find the solution to unlock the padlock of the next box.

There are three theme worlds:

  • the snowy winter village “Longyearbyen” with cheerful elves, gnomes and reindeer, who you help to prepare for Christmas.
  • the lively, wild jungle «Kakamega» with many animals and plants, where you accompany the warthog Willi in search of his snack box.
  • the mysterious castle “To the tall tower” in the Middle Ages, where you and the castle mouse Nadine find a strange object and puzzle over its origin.
  • the modern, fully automated space station «WRS-01-24», where you solve a mysterious case in the various modules such as the cafeteria, accommodation and laboratory with the help of the robot Robbert.

With or without chocolate

There is the Advent calendar with the stories and a version with stories and pre-filled with organic Swiss chocolate.

Meaningful production

The calendar is produced and assembled for you by people with disabilities in a sheltered workshop in Zurich.

Circular concept

With Taleboxes, we want to offer a sustainable, meaningful concept for Advent calendars that shifts the focus from consumption to a shared experience and learning. This idea is also important to us in terms of production (FSC-certified wood, local service providers, inclusive workplaces, vegan ingredients) and usability after Advent: the stickers on the boxes are easy to remove and the boxes can be used universally, e.g. for tidying up. And we are also planning for you to send in the boxes from previous years and we will refill and re-stick them.

Delivery date

Attention: for a more sustainable production, we will produce all orders at the same time and deliver on November 20, 2024  (CET) by mail. Order deadline is October 23, 2024, 6 pm (CET).
